Ready for Healthy

This last week has been tough.  Tucker has been sick; super runny nose, cough, crabbiness, less sleep because coughing wakes him, less sleep for parents because coughing wakes him.  I am ready for healthy.  Yesterday brought a glimpse of getting better and today a little better still, and I am ready to be able to take my little guy to the park again, the library, friends’ houses, mommy and me.  He misses out on so much when he is sick.

I also have so many good things to write about; the best nacho cheese recipe in all the land and a super easy homemade hummus.  I just don’t have a second.  Tucker wants me to hold him all the time or at least be paying attention to him and/or playing with him, NO computer time for mommy.  I have been taking naps with him in my bed (which has actually been really awesome) but then I don’t get anything done during his nap time.  Today is the first nap he has taken alone and I am taking a second to vent, but then I have to edit an essay before I tutor.

I am hoping and praying that complete health is just a day or 2 away.

I am thankful for the snuggle nap times, for the good homemade meals we ate this week, and for my husband who really gave all he could during Tucker’s sickness, I would have gone completely insane if it wasn’t for his help.  I know he has so much on his plate already and I so appreciated everything he did.  He so deserves a BJ this week.

Peace and Love

have you ever tried putting vicks menthol stuff on the bottom of tuck’s feet and then putting socks on his feet…try this before bedtime and i hear it is guarenteed less coughing at night. it has to be the mentholated stuff tho. our soles of our feet are connected to our respitory system apparently. maybe look up reflexology info?

Careful with the vicks! I have a friend that did this and it put her child in respitory distress ! They spent two nights in the NICU hooked up to a ventalator. Some babys have a horrible reaction to it and it actually closes the airways! My pediatrition told us not to even try it.

i guess you could also just rub a little on their chest like one would normally do and see if it helps before trying the feet?

thanks ladies. I love the mom support and advice. He is much better this evening. On Friday, I went to Henry’s market and the lady recommended to usthis homeopathic cough stuff but she also gave me this Elderberry juice that is SUPER concentrated. She said it is amazing and will definitely help dry up the cold. Its not something you can OD on because it is just concentrated juice. We gave him 1 tsp 2 x a day and man does it taste delicious. Tucker loved it. Its called Sambucus. Ill write more about it later. We also put Eucalyptus oil in his humudifier, bath and shower, and also had him drink juice with a few drops of Grapefruit Seed Extract every few days. I love that he is getting better without going to the doctor, going on antibiotics or non-homeopathic medicines. We didnt even give him any tylenol or anything. Makes me feel like his body is getting stronger and building more immunity to germs.

Also, I thought Vicks was for breathing better and he didnt have any breathing trouble. Does it help with coughing too?
